Webinar 2 – Discovery of new fungal LPMOs and the role of extracellular polysaccharides in SARS-CoV-2 infection.

This Webinar will provide an insight into the role of surface polysaccharides (GAGs) in the binding of SARS-CoV-2 and its implication on developing GAG-based antivirals by Dr Mark Skidmore. In addtion, Dr Aurore Labourel will provide a fascinating insight into the discovery of new LPMOs which has played a crucial role in the energy industry by converting agricultural residues to biofuels.

15.00 Dr Mark Skidmore, Keele University, Title: Glycosaminoglycans as potential therapeutic agents against COVID-19

15.40 Dr Aurore Labourel, University of Warwick, Title: Discovery of fungal copper proteins evolutionarily related to lytic polysaccharides monooxygenases (LPMO)
