A two day workshop on The Role of Carbohydrates in the Gut Microbiome took place on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th June 2018 in Brussels and was attended by 40 delegates from academia and industry. The objective of the workshop was to formulate a positioning paper on The Role of Carbohydrates in the Gut Microbiome.
The workshop was introduced by the CarboMet Coordinator Professor Sabine Flitsch. Nathalie Juge, gave an overview presentation on the topic highlighting important points for discussion by the whole group during the workshop. There were flash presentations from the majority of participants on various aspects as well as group discussions to identify the challenges and needs
